Installation and Setup (print topic)

You take the security of your computer very seriously and so do we. Our software is digitally signed, and uses Microsoft's AppInstaller to ensure the integrity of the install process.

  1. Click here to download the Appraiser Grunt ALPHA Installer file. This install package runs about 50 Mb, and may take a few moments to download, depending on the speed of your connection.

  2. To protect your computer against malware, we recommend validating the installation software by using the following steps:

    1. take a moment to verify the downloaded file's properties.The downloaded filename should be "Appraiser Grunt ALPHA-x64.msix".

    2.  Right-click the file and select Properties from the popup menue. On the General tab, the expected file size is 40-60 Mb.

    3. Select the Digital Signatures page to verify that it was signed by George W LeMay.

    4. If the downloaded files meet all these criteria, you can safely start the installer by double clicking it.

    5. The first screen should be a confirmation screen.

    6. Final check: Make sure the Installation shows the publisher is George W LeMay. [Source note: Once installed, software updates will be downloaded to your local drive automatically, so the source listed for updates will be a special folder on your computer.]

    7. If these items are confirmed, the downloaded file is valid and you can safely continue with the install.

  3. When the installer finishes, it will start Appraiser Grunt, and prompt you for information it needs to run. This screen will appear until all required fields are filled and Appraiser Grunt successfully once. You will be able to change any of the data in these fields within Appraiser Grunt using the program Settings function.

Output folder: Folder to save the CSV and Photographs in. To use an existing folder, click the … button to browse to it.

Source folders: Folders with XML appraisal report files to extract your data from. Clicking the … button opens a special panel to help you build the string. See Folders List Panel (below).

Licensing State, License number: Using these boxes, select your State first. The program will download your state licensing records so you can pick your License number from the list.5 Make sure YOUR name appears in the “Registered to:” box.

UADNet Member ID and Password: Enter these as shown in your welcome packet – capitalization of both are important

  • Complete installation: Enables when all fields have been properly filled out. This starts the building process of your CSV files and photographs from the files in your source files list, and starts Appraiser Grunt.

  • Save and quit: Saves your work so far and closes the app without starting anything else.

  • Cancel: don’t save any edits, just close the app.

Folders List Panel:

Use the +Add… button to browse to a folder that has the appraisal report files you want Grunt to copy its data from adds that folder’s path to the list. If you check the box to the left of that folder path, then Grunt will also copy data from every folders in that folder path.

Use the -Delete button to delete highlighted rows.
The Cancel button closes the pane without saving your changes
The Save button saves your changes, enters the code into the Source Folders box, and closes the pane.

In this graphic, all XML files found in the highlighted folder will be processed. XML files in the checked folder and each of its subfolders will also be processed.

The bottom left hand corner of the panel shows how many XML files that are in the folders in the list. Hints appear at the bottom of each screen for the control selected.
